Institutional-cum- Residential Building for Mr. Amarjeet Malik, at Lonavala

The site which was located in lonavala, was a contoured site for paragliding purpose.Area of site 6757sq.m. The entry to the site was towards the west, which is followed by visitors parking, equipment room, security cabin, driver's room. There is a pathway that leads to the main building. A separate parking for the owner is provided near the building. A staircase following the contoured site leads to the main entrance to the building.


 Entrance is followed by reception and class room.
It has 4 bedrooms with attached toilet and terrace. It also has two dormitories at both the corners of the building with attached toilet and bath. The building was given this irregular shape to make it look like a para-glide. Passage is featured with landscape elements, also provide with an amphitheatre which adds to the multi-functionality. A common toilet provided near the entrance.

Upper ground floor was segregated with passage, the left side of the building was residential area of the owner, which comprised of a living room, a bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, attached toilet and study. The right side of the building has a dinning area with bar, attached kitchen, powder room,utility and store. The passage/deck area was provided with seating to enjoy the view of the building.

The roof of the central core of the building was such, that it was inviting the rain into the building,it being west facing. so to obstruct the rain from entering into the building, machan (deck) was planned on the machan level. It can also be used as a viewing deck.
